These are the old-school style Xmittens, in the style originated by textile artist Amber Coppings in the mid-2000's. They finish at the finger, wrist, and thumb opening with a single layer of serged fleece.
Xmittens are made in our Pittsburgh workshop from RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) fleece. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a strong, durable plastic, typically used for food and beverage containers, and recycled PET can be made into fabric like this! Some Xmittens are also made from deadstock (surplus or ready-to-discard) fabric to switch it up a little. Either way, we try to tread as lightly as we can upon the planet.
Xmittens are meant to hug your hands snugly, and their stretch gives some wiggle room for fit!
